On offer today is a military-derived yet impeccable pilot’s flyback chronograph from arguably the most significant French watchmaker, the Breguet Type XXI flyback Transatlantique, ref 3810ST.
Despite it’s military & tool origins;Breguet took some creative liberties with the contemporary Type XXI - albeit turning it into the most opulent tool watch. Ever. There isn’t any untouched surface on this timepiece; a signature of Breguet’s excess.
From the Coin-edge case flank, diamond indices on the multifaceted dial - which also features contrasting sunburst; to the cursive script & brushed timing bezel. The devil is in the details - of which there are plenty.
As above, so below; Breguet didn’t compromise with the powertrain either. Featuring the Lemania based cal 584Q, this heavily modified movement features a flyback chronograph with central minutes counter, as well as a 24-hour indicator.
Dating to circa early 2000’s, this example of an opulent timepiece is sold in ‘Very Good’ Vintage condition, with surface level wear visible on the case, and aging on the strap; there is also a minor dent on the crown. Sold as watch with Breguet travel case.
