On offer today is a fine, oversized yet classy chronograph from the Parisian watchmakers - The Cartier Santos XL 100 chronograph in steel featuring the classic white piano dial ref 2740.
Hailing from the period where oversized time-pieces were the rave - this ref 2740 sports a gargantuan wrists presence thanks to its near 15mm thickness & 55mm lug-to-lug; despite its seemingly ordinary 41mm diameter.
Despite resembling a Deepsea in stature compared to an ordinary Santos - this XL 100 features all the timeless aspects you can expect; from the multi-faceted piano dial - square bezel with screws & cabochon on the crown.
This particular example of 2740 is presented in very good condition with a couple of minor dings & surface wear - however presents in a general clean condition having been polished sometime in the past.
It is dated to 2006 & accompanied with its box, booklets & papers; currently paired with an aftermarket brown leather strap - with the original worn crocodile included.
