On offer today is arguably the most timeless model from the crown, the DJin the goldilocks 36 size - featuring a rare silver concentric racing dial; ref 116234 with a roulette date.
While not particularly known for guilloché - the art of engraving geometric patterns on a dial with the means of a rose engine - Rolex took creative liberties & applied a thorough concentric pattern on the dial; complemented with the sporty western Arabic numerals known of the period.
This particular 116234 is the dj in its most iconic configuration; the 18k white gold ‘fluted bezel’ and the legendary super-jubilee bracelet; with the aforementioned concentric dial. As part of the 116234’s this example also features the alternating black & red ‘roulette’ date wheel.
Presented in very good condition with some wear present on the case & bracelet, this timeless piece is sold with 20 links and presented in a complete set with the inner box, booklets, & card dated 2005.
