On offer today is a hefty, purpose-built & fine saturation diver’s piece from the crown, the Sea-Dweller ref 16600, Y serial dated to 2002.
While living in the shadow of its older brother - the Submariner - the Sea-Dweller took the basic principles of the Oyster Case & pumped it with steroids; earning an astounding 4000ft/1200m of water resistance.
Adopting a majority of cosmetics from it’s brother, the Sea-Dweller holds a more muscular stature; featuring beefier lugs, a chunkier case, as well as a thicker crystal - albeit without cyclops; presenting a flush & cleaner aesthetic. And let’s not forget the ever iconic helium escape valve; situated at the 3 o’clock case flank.
This particular Sea-Dweller ref 16600 is presented with its thick lugs, bold chamfers & crisp satin brushing. It retains minor wear throughout, with a minor scratch on the bezel at 8:30, and minor discolouration on the lume pip; overall grades as ‘Excellent Vintage’.
