On offer today is a rare & collectible timepiece from the chronograph legends, the El Primero flyback ‘Rainbow’ reference 01/02.0470.405.
Allegedly commissioned for the French Air Force, this particular El Primero features an added flyback function; allowing the user to reset the chronograph simultaneously as it’s running - as well as including a rotating timing bezel & telemeter.
While it’s colourful brother may be the more popular of the rainbows, this monotone version is just as sleek; and when contrasted with that custard tritium patina on the dial presents as a stunning vintage combo.
Delievered in its (rare!) complete double box, booklets & papers dated to 1999, this charismatic El Primero features strong visible wear commensurate with age - and bezel turns without clicks; hence earning a ‘good vintage’ rating. However, it has been serviced last year to ensure longevity.
