On offer today is a legendary two-toned GMT-Master II ‘Root Beer’ in it’s five digit rendition; reference 16713 dated to 1991.
At first glance you’ll notice the caramel toned dial, featuring a ‘ghost effect’ - with the dial’s text seemingly shimmering on & off with different angles of lighting. With the Yellow gold adding a stunning contrast; tying in perfectly with the gingers tones of the PM bezel.
Next I’ll emphasise the condition; the case bears thick lugs complemented by sharp & crisp chamfers which I believe are untouched, the same state is shared by the clasp’s coronet - featuring strong definition & a bold presence. And the case-back still features it’s original sticker with reference number stamped.
However as with its untouched nature it has a decent level of surface level wear. Sold as watch only, this Rootbeer is a time-capsule of luxury tool watch, showcasing some character while maintaining an austere presence with it’s unaltered condition.
